What I like about driving my W116 ...

When I'm city driving and get to my proper speed of 30 or 40mph, and I let my foot off the pedal, I feel absolutely nothing, and the engine gives a relaxing "aaahhhh," with a low, comforting hum.

Auto Erotica?  Why yes, I believe it is.  If so, does that make 70s era luxo-barges into tug-boats?

What I liked best about driving Max was driving it right after a wash and wax, especially in the early evening with the gentle glow of the instruments and the hood and star shimmering in the fading light.



...and the smell, that wonderful smell like your Grandfather's library of wool and wood and leather.  I've heard some owners complain about that "old car" smell, but I love it. 

The other thing I really like about all well-preserved old cars is the delightful sensation of stepping back in time as you experience the interior - it is always so amazing when you run across a truly fine example.
