To keep it short;

It sat in an underground parking garage in Paris for 29 years and has only 25,873kms on the clock.The seats and armrest have no scratches,carpet is not discolored,smell's like new.100% rustfree thanks to the weather conditions of southern France.It seems that it's for sale but no price is specified,just a phone number to the salesman.

I love seeing "new" 116's.  At the same time there's a sigh and realisation of how far I've got to go.  To get a respray is relatively easy, but to have the whole car looking unmarked and relatively untouched is a major feat.  I sometimes look at my brochures or pics like this as reference to see how out of whack some parts are.  My chrome looks good but the difference is obvious when you compare to the glass like smoothness of the brochure photos or "new" restored 116's.

That's the beauty of this 116....it is 100% original,no restoration performed on it.

Cars like this kind of convince me that even the best restorations still fall far short of a "new" W116. 

However, those pics of the metallic red 450 with all the extra wood bits someone posted on another thread comes very close.
