I know there's a fair number of Australians on this board, so thought I'd see if anyone here was from 'way' down under. I saw a 450 SEL 6.9 for sale the other day and was thinking about it. Here to research services options and to see if the owner might be around.

Hey Steve.

There used to be at least 4 at one stage but they've either moved on, sold up or just gone quiet.  But I can't think of anyone posting recently.  It'd be interesting to hear more about the 6.9.  Not too much, you don't want to introduce competition of course  but we've got Nathan that keeps a register of aussie 6.9s and may be able to tell you a bit about the car if you know the VIN.  It's not #5190 is it, milan brown? It's the only one I know of in Tassie at the moment. Personally I think it'd be cool if you've unearthed one we don't know about.  Good luck with pursuing it and any other questions, just ask.

The VIN (or chassis number, as the owner described it to me) is: 11603622006045

The car looked in good nick, and he's asking $20K for it. The guys seems knowledgeable about 6.9's, and has two of them, although he didn't know what 'suspension spheres' are when I asked. To be honest, I don't really know what they are, but saw reference here that a car 30 years old would have needed to have them replaced at least once by now.

It's green, with leather interior. This owner has had it five years, and bought it from a place in Sydney "Old Timers". 16X,xxx kilometers, recent transmission rebuild.

Given the one up in Queensland is still for sale, $20K seems a bit steep.
