My rear left wire for the parking brake snapped a while ago, and now im searching for a new one. If i buy it from the mercedes dealer its about 100$ and thats kind of expensive. Anyway i found a website that had to the w123 series wich costed about 20$, will this fit my 116?

For W116 :

Chassis number up to 116.032-xx-026269 : left brake cable : A116 420 09 85 which superceeds to 116 420 13 85 plus 1 x A114 586 01 42

Chassis number FROM 116.032-xx-0262270 : left brake cable : 116 420 13 85

For W123 :

left brake cable : 123 420 04 85

Different numbers means different parts.  Sorry.  I suspect the W123 one is shorter.

reputable brake shops can actually remanufacture, or completely remake handbrake cables all on site.

I suspect they will be more expensive than just buying the genuine parts though.

Left wires always die due to exhaust heat cracking the insulative sheath and allowing water in, it then rusts them out.
