Hello,

I got a question and need some help to fix a to lpg converted w116 with engine code M 110.922. the car is bought a few month ago, and running great on lpg but it won't even start on petrol. I was looking for the fuel pump relay, but cannot find it with the regular locations given on the internet, so I need a more specific instruction for this type of engine. also I cannot find the fuelpump/sender, it is not near the rear axcle, or has this type a fuel pump inside the tank? Or is it common to remove the petrol system when converting to lpg?

I don't hear the fuel pump so that is my first clue

thanks for your help

Fuel pump relay is the one towards the windshield, inside the fuse box. The fuel pump + filter package is in the back, in front of the subframe, very easy to spot from underneath. I wouldn't expect an LPG car to have no fuel system at all - don't they typically use petrol to start, and only the switch to LPG?

well I thought that too, starting on petrol, and after the engine is warm on lpg, but this one also starts on lpg.
I added pictures let me know where I should see the relay and the pump.

Hello,
According to your profile you have a 280S also in the pictures it is a w126 not a w116 , anyway the 280S (Carburator) has a mechanical fuel pump that is mounted to the engine block so you will not find an electric fuel pump or relay.

well that makes sense, I will check that futher, thanks.

my registration says I got engine code M 110.922, I cannot find a clue that this engine code also is used for a w126
any Idea?

Yes 110.922 is for the 280s w116 , for the w126 it should be 110.924 but your pictures clearly show a w126 , maybe somebody swaped the engine , what year does your car have ?

jorg

it is a 1980.
where is the engine type plate located? I can check it, but probably wrong registered.

There is no plate as far as i know, but there should be a number stamped into the top of the block where distributor is.
