1977 450 SEL Ignition Cylinder - no pin hole

Hi, All. I'm new to the forum, and I'm restoring a 1977 450 SEL with my son. It's been a great project, and we've taken it from non-running and sitting for over a decade to fun running and driving a car that he's learning to drive in.

Recently, the ignition lock cylinder stuck while we were out, and I'm going to nip that real quick before it gets us stuck. I ordered a new part from Pelcan Parts, and it's not the same as the original. The new part has the pinhole I'm used to and was expecting.

In fact, I can't figure out how to get the original out. I did look through the other threads, and all of them seemed to have the standard pinhole I'd put an Allen key or paperclip like the replacement part. This one is different.

How do I remove it? There is no visible spot to insert an allen key I did take the black plastic off and a chrome ring to get this far.

I appreciate your advice!

Thanks

My 77 280 SE (US model) has the same configuration.  I took it apart about a year ago, but I don't remember for sure how I did it.  I may have done it from behind the dash with the cluster out.

Thanks! That's what my research seems to show. I'll take some pictures as I do it as I can't seem to find any, and it may be helpful to others if they run into this situation, too.

Thanks!
