Foam mat under front hood

Hello,

10 years ago I bought a new foam mat for the engine hood at MB, now it is already falling apart again, spreading flakes on the engine.
Is that a common behaviour of MB mats after that time? 

Does anybody know a source for a longer enduring mat, preferably in Europe?

I bought a Febi branded one and it still looks great after almost 10 years.  Granted I drive very little so not much heat as gotten to it.  I'm sure there is likely a huge price difference between the Febi and Benz part, if the Benz part is even still available, so for me even if the job sucks a bit, 10 years ain't bad

I've got a Febi in the garage and if I can get a decade out of it I'll be delighted!
