Very nice 6.9 , but i have to stay on the title of this topic  ;) .
For me it seems that the car had been repainted , for that price i would have expected the car to have the factory paint.
Also in picture 257 the front spoiler is not mounted correctly it should be mounted above the sheetmal not below i attached a picture from my car how it should be.

Found the parts in picture that mine doesn't have , does anybody know what the mount at rear subframe is for in the picture , never saw such a mount on a w116.
Also it has plastic protector in the front that i never saw , also can't find them in the EPC are they aftermarket ?

I couldn't figure out what seemed strange about the wheel well panel also. Looks like it is incorrect. Photo attached of correct one.

116-884-05-35 L and 06-35 R. Both NLA from MB now.

I have some used ones that should clean up nice if interested.

Those additional splash guard plastic panels are correct but they were only fitted on later models.  Must have been an add on for guarding against additional water ingress I guess.

Yup:

116 698 03 30
116 698 04 30

I think you also need a sealing strip against the rocker panel, it's called "sealing cord":

001 987 56 46, I'm guessing you buy this by the length from Benz if still available.

Of course also screws to attach:

123 990 13 36

Found old post about:

The ru EPC  says they were only fitted to late models, VIN greater than 006301 in the 6.9 case.

And the car also has the solid fuel line between pump and filter.  Nice!

The link above shows the left rear axle bracket on my 1978 W116 300SD. I have always thought these brackets were intended for use as an anchoring point (along with the front right tow eye) to secure the car to the deck of ship while being transported.

Interesting you car has it on the other side , would be weird that the changed a car just for the transport at mercedes.

Alec300SD

My 1978 300SD has a both a right and a left bracket, as did my 1979 300SD.
Perhaps the brackets were only mounted on W116's for export and/or later models.

The left bracket is gone on the critiqued car.
You can see the rusted jagged edges of the broken welds where the left bracket was mounted in the image below.
