Very nice 500eguy!

I gotta admit, I really like the look of those cars. They really look like they mean business.

These were the cars with Porsche engineering, weren't they?

Great stuff! :)

The 1st time I ever saw a 500E, it was Pearl Grey with Black leather...magical. I still have the brochure that it's in...Love it. Damn shame we never got them here.

Heh 500,
lucky man...those 5 spoke hammer wheels always look good.  did the US 500 get stripped of power cf euro versions?  there is a decent article on 3 versions of the 500 in the recent merc enthusiast (recdent in Australia means its 2 months old cf UK)...your hawaiin backdrops always look good

Thank you thank you:) the w124 500s did not get any less horsepower, they were all the same. Actually the 92s have the most horsepower out of all of them due to some different ecu tuning. I was just contemplating buying the Euro headlights for it. Thanks guys for the kind complements! :)

Dude, are you sure they didn't bring out RHD versions for the UK. 8) 8)  I wish.

If an unbadged 6.9 is a sleeper, I think these cars even moreso.  Or maybe on par ;D  Ever since you told me ages ago what a 500E/E500 was, all I've ever read is good stuff about them and the craving for an RHD version.  A modern day collectable surely.  You'll never let this one go I bet.
1973 350SE, my first & fave

116Benz

Nuh 'fraid not, that was the big frustration that they were all left hookers, the U.K models were left hookers as well, so were the Japan models too (the Japanese saw it as a novelty to get out onto the kerb)

Beautiful car! I've already told 116Benz about a 300E that could be coming my way, after an exchange of cash....of course. I really do like the W124 series. Recognisably an MB but understated too.

It's only a secret where the bank manager is concerned :o

Ahhhhhhhh  ;) gotcha

Also...there was a 400E as well...only it didnt have the flared guards, also the 500E had the front guards made of magnesium (lighter weight apparently)

This one is a keeper...i seem to get very attached to the MBs. Yea they are all Left hookers, they should have at least allocated a certain number to the right hand drive markets. I love the 124 Series, trying to find a clean TE 124 or 123... i love the chrome rook racks on the 123. The 500 is really amazing on the Backroads as well as on the motorway... once on the back roads it feels like a little 190, it has sooooo much grip.

my boss had the current shape e500 before his current cls 63 amg, IMHO, the w124 looks hell tougher while the current looks like a POS. ;)

I do wish the w124 e500 was available in rhd :(
