Title: Expanding my fleet
Post by: ptashek on 14 November 2017, 04:01 PM
I've expanded my "fleet" by adding a '93 W124 280TE to the pool today. Full spec, but with cloth interior which is near mint.

At 198k miles on the clock, everything that goes wrong mechanically with the W124/M104 combo already has gone wrong and been fixed, including spheres, gearbox, head gasket and wiring loom. Some rust to deal with, but nothing major (famous last words?).

Anyone else got a W124 estate?
Any tips for a newbie?

congratulation on your lastest acquisition

I think they are great and make a worthy everyday driver.

these are the W124 models I have owned: 1986 260E sedan,  update 1991 300E sedan,  wifes car 1991 300E 2.6 sedan

currently own 1996 E220 Coupe ( wifes car ) fantastic cruiser.

these cars were much better built and more comforable than the current models.

cheers Rob
