The new 690SEL will be unveiled at Eastern Creek - champagne and sandwiches (beer and BBQ for the rest of us).
There will be dancing bears and cheer leaders with enough pneumatic tension to burst open the barrier as the 690SEL races out of the pits and into the straight.
There will be rides for sale and a drive around the track will be auctioned for charity by the Federal Minister for Transport (if we have one?)
For the committed, there are scale models to buy, tea towels featuring Michel and his 690SEL and key rings dangling a red 690SEL logo.
Pieces of burnt rubber will command as high a price as a relic of the true cross.
I got my invite and replied straight away. I assume the rest of you folk received your invite and will be there?
The event is to be covered by Channels 2,7 and 9. It will also be shown on a large screen at selected points; Martin Place, Champs Elysees, Trafalgar Square, Tienneman Square and a private viewing will be offered at the Classic Centre.
Be there and witness this famous event.
Regards,
BC

Recovered ?
This sounds like an interesting prospect... does it come up looking fantastic ? does the colour match the rest of the interior or does it get painted to match when recovered.

Have just posted on another thread the availability of the licence plate
690SEL
on a
red
background. As this is Michel's personal thread, what do we think about this plate gracing the beast? Of course, it is available in a number of other colours, should the mood take...

It's 6.00am in Sydney.
The
690SEL
will be picked up in 3 hours by a glamorous flat bed/slide bed tow truck and be brought back to its rightful; home after a few months sojourn at the Godfather (Styria) and the son's (parks) premises for new upholstery/dash/carpet and a few other things etc...
Watch this space
me can't wait
