Hey Leigh,

I was down in your neck of the woods over the weekend actually, although not in the 116 sadly...

I agree with the others, that's a really nice looking car you have there Type17!

Somebody saw my car in the drive last week, knocked on the door to have a look, and later called to offer me £700 for it - I'm in two minds whether to take it as I know mine will never look that good...

Hahah... thought it might be.   I'm up in sydney, so hopefully the Mrs will get them to the post office tomorrow or next day.  Worst case I'm back on Thursday evening.

You'll be happy with the purchases - value for money. Wink

Cam.

That's remarkable, it's truly a reference for what these cars looked like when brand new, what a fantastic find. I think I'm as green as your cool interior.

Yes and no.  The damage estimate is similar to the value of the car, so they want to scrap it.  Its a shame because its a nice low-mile car in 040 black paint, and just had a transmission rebuild, new fuel distributor, etc etc.  In otherwords, he's sunk $$$ into it.

My dad had a burglary in his R129.  The geniuses used a crowbar to open the airbag compartment, thinking it was a locked glove box.  Anyhow, a new dash from MB is US$4800.  He also needs a new airbag cover, centre console, airvents etc etc.  The total damage estimate is US$14700.

That would be covered by insurance though right ?

What a shame the airbag didn't explode, decapitating them in the process. Would of done the world a favor.

I will be replacing those spheres, plus I kept the SLS struts from the 126 so I could get fresh boots onto them, and fit them to the 450. The driveline vibration is actually from the half shafts, as they are operating on an angle that was not intended.

Goldacre,
I'll have to check the EPC for those, I think. The fact that AutohausAZ suggests that three are required is a bit suspect.
