all right guys,
sorry i didnt get round to sending a group SMS later today, was hectic as usual.
absolute disaster today with one of the 116s. thinking id tidy 3 of them up before tomorrows meeting, i got my brothers (was dads) 280sel off him and cleaned it. even clay barred the central panels. the battery was flat as my brother rarely drives it so i had it idling on the driveway and i thought id swap it into the garage with another car. reversing out the 124 wagen i forgot id left the drivers door open on the 280. absolutely screwed it. oh the irony of having arranged a visit to a panel shop.
anyhow, the next post will probably be pics of the day. i suggest we start another thread for pics so they are on page 1 and not several pages into a posting??

Ohhh Nathan I feel for you!

Id seriously beat myself up over such a thing

A great day, I'll just start with a teaser (in the driveway & ready to roll) and let the experts post some nice photos.

Thanks to all and Nathan for making it happen.

I'm drooling already!!

Oh Nathan I can relate to that too!  I once got a bit cocky in the backyard and during a reverse manoeuvre I backed into the house!!  Badly dinted the rear bumper of my first 6.9 and I'm still kicking myself years later!   :'(

A great outing enjoyed by all in perfect Perth weather.

Thanks Nathan for arranging it and thanks all who came and made me dust off my 6.9 even if I didn't get to wash it.

We started at the latest M-B approved Body Repair shop

And was introduced by Jason who is well known to those of us who have been Diesel Motors regulars over the years.

All beautiful and clean and new with all the latest water based technology and chassis equipment.

All attentive like

Nathan and Chris Flamer from the MBCWA

Another couple of Doctors who help fund their son's addictions.

Motec - I somehow visualised him as being much fiercer than he appeared.

HiHo and son Ash with partner

John 6007

The cars

Nathan's pride and joy.

Nathan's oops - he can explain it himself

Everyone is an expert of course

Then we went for a little convoy driving

Nathan was into overt surveillance

John 6007's nice straight 6.9

And then a little parking for a photo opportunity

A gaggle of 116's

TJ450's early build 6.9

And then arrival at Leederville

For Lunch

Which was gobbled with Gusto.

Great day and happy memories.

Bill

WoW!

What a happy looking bunch of people, although MT looks like he is up to no good lol

Thats probably one of the biggest assemblies of W116's since the last M100 Run no?

Please tell me someone arranged the cars in a crescent shape and took piccies?

Surely there were more than 11 there?

Excellent turnout. if not for my cockup with my brothers 280sel, dad probably wouldn't have come.  but the pressure of John6007s dad won over and dad finally attended an event, his first merc event ever i think despite having owned them since the 70s!!!
great pics Bill, very good. the only scary thought was if ChrisP took them or you did whilst driving!
i will work on the GoPro video over the next week or so, its my first venture with these so who know-how long it will take.
was great to meet many faces i hadn't before, as well as reacquaint some others.
now the bar is set for 15 cars next time.
please keep the pics coming guys

Looking forward to the Video Nathan, Dont polish it too much mate.

I have to say I got all warm and oogy reading this thread with the great pics posted, something about an Automotive brotherhood (Or any real brotherhood) that reaffirms my faith in humanity.
