Hi.

A couple weeks ago some Merc fans joined at one of Madrid villages. There were more than 45 cars , some W123 some W116 ( including a blue 6.9 ) and some other ones.

BTW.. there was a W123 300CD coupe from USA restored at Poland !!!.. They have done a fantastic job and the car looks better than new!!!

Enjoy the fotos at http://www.novamix.com/mercedes/w123/  ...

.... BTW .. mine is the second photo at the album...  ;)..  this one..

Yep, that is.

dudu I think your car is great.  Its the only time I've seen a 116 in Byzantine gold, aside from early 70's publicity photographs.

Hi Dudu, that is a great bunch of photos. Thanks for sharing those with us. As far as this particular outing was concerned, was this organized by your local Mercedes Club, or is the 123 movement (or group) part of a special chapter contained within the Club ?

As far as 6.9's, or any of the other cars shown, what is the situation regarding Insurance for third party injuries or the cost of yearly registration  is concerned ? Is Spain in unison with Germany or Austria or do you have your own country's conditions/restrictions ?  Love to hear further from you. Regards, Styria

Hi Styria.

This meeting was organized by a club that is not within the MB Official CLub at Spain. There are a lot of W123 at Spain and almost all of them in a perfect shape, and they have joined within their own club. This club ( the W123 Club EspaƱa ) is workingon some yearly meetings, and they are open to some other models... I think the way of working of these guys is attracting more people than the official one does... but this is my personal opinnion.

Regarding insurance... My car has one clasiffied as a "historical quote", i mean... it has some limits, for example, not running more than 5000 km per year, but has the same benefits than a "third class" one.. In case of accident and if the other car is guilty then they will take care of fixing the issues caused within the accident... The issue is that there is a "residual value"... and if the cost is greater than that then it is my task to start talking with the other company....

There are some other classifications about insurance.. for example, the "third" ones can cover some issues with fire, glasses damages, and so on... and then you can get the "all risks".. but this will be very expensive...

Costs... i paid 120 Euros per year... a "third" one will cost 500 aprox... and "all risks" more than 1500 Euros...

Hope my english ( insurance one ) will be good enough...  ;) I am a technical guy... you know, databases, computers, operating systems and all of this damn stuff...

See you.

Thanks.  ;)... i am really proud about this car..

Nowadays its colour is not in perfect shape... but here at Spain the cost for some things ( for example paint workshops )  is too expensive and i prefer to work on the  mechanical issues it have.. ( almost 95% ended ).
I hope in a couple years i will be able to pay for a "full paint".

Regards.

PD: i will create a post with all the DIY jobs i have done with it.
