Perth w116 get together August 2010

Hi Guys,
after conversing with one of the newer .org Perth members, it seems a get together may be in order (i will actually get this one sorted rather than just suggesting and then piking!)
although im on the other side still, ill be driving back from melbourne early august.
what would everyones thoughts be on a meeting in the second half of august.
please pipe in with a reply to say if vaguely or tentatively interested.
the usual deal of a morning meeting, brief drive up the freeway or coast and maybe lunch? we could even do a hill climb towards WGBs so he doesnt have to do his usual 50 minute effort just to get there!

i think 12 was the previous best and we must be able to beat this?

could include forum members TJ, MT (get your car ready!), WGB, Goldacre, Me, Motec!, PeterQ, Greg
non forum members including Chris V (red 6.9), Dave G (Blue 6.9),
Liam would be keen too.
I might even email the current president of the WA merc club who is a nice bloke and see if he would forward the email to 116s in the club, not sure how many there are.

This will be the best incentive to get the 450 fixed up (timing chain, seals,WUR etc) by August.

Count me in on this one for sure.

Happy with a show and shine at a cool spot (river?) then a drive and BBQ (recession busting tip) at a members shed

I don't mind driving in the back of a w116.

Mine likely will still be in pieces with zero progress by that stage

No worries CMS280SE, i will bring the big arse tow rope i use to keep the boat in place at the Port Geograph Marina, that should help your 280 out  . The 450 should be ready for a pulling comp after Tim and i get the new timing chain and bits into her  (thanks heaps Tim)

Otherwise plenty of room in the luxurious rear leather seats of the SEL

I dont think so

I think there are far more members over east, the WA members are probably just more active on the forum when theres discussion of a get together
