SUNDAY AUGUST 29 2010,
i suggest a meeting point around 10am, for a convoy drive to another location where we might have something to eat or drink.
a group consensus on location would be good.
if everyone would like to yeah or neh that would also be good. invite all 116s you know!
regards and for more info to come

Nathan I read that in Julia Gillard's voice.  And it's irritating.

Thank God mines ivory, otherwise i would be tempted to pass wind so to speak (a no-no in my car)

Yay, 29 of August is good for me  :) can offer the Fremantle Sailing Club restaurant as a good spot, nice local and big car park and the prices range from 'recession busting to your over paid'  ;D and the beers cheap  :P

Hi folks, catching up with Tim and Nathan last weekend confirms the event is still on for the 29 August 2010  :o

Tim is organising the route which looks promising  8) and the Fremantle Yacht Club (in Fremantle  ::)) is the lunch venue and will post menu when i get there on Sunday this weekend to book.

Hope to see you all there especially my Merc if those Woodruffs are not here by Thursday next week  :-\

Nathan, have you fixed that Tele bracket yet.......

Goldacre

PS Burty, when i fix the Merc up i would at least be keen to pop down for a BBQ at Meelup Beech to bed in the new parts  ;D

Hi guys,

this is the group email i have been sending out after my poor effort!

im sorry about the very late reply after my earlier suggested date a few months back.

since returning from 6 months work there one week ago, it has been very very hectic.

at late notice my orginisational skills are lacking so this is what i have devised at short arrangement.

Sunday 29th August 10am

Meeting Place: Bell Tower, Riverside Drive Perth

From here we will drive to the (Kwinana) Freeway South entry and head for Leach Highway.

At Leach highway we will turn right to head towards Fremantle.

A short meeting at the Fremantle War Memorial (http://www.about-australia.com/travel-guides/western-australia/perth/attractions/historic-site/fremantle-war-memorial/) will allow all to reconvene in the event of separation.

From here i suggest we head to South Terrace in Fremantle, and drive through this cappucino strip like every good bogan should do at least once in his life!

The final point for lunch will be the oyster bar (although we ate in the cafe section) on the beach, Port Beach road. Our previous location seemed a non stressful environment to get to.

I apologise if the route is a bit unimaginative and am up for constructive suggestions. I think the benefit of starting close to the freeway ensures we will stay in convoy, as hopefully will Leach Highway.  I appreciate Julian had suggested a Fremantle yacht club for lunch but as i have not had time to organise this, i have just suggested our previous location which had good parking and was easy to get to.

I will be sending this to all 116.org users and hopefully receiving some late notice help from the merc club of wa. please forward to any w116 users in WA.

If you could please email me on nathan_vujcich@hotmail.com and let me know if you have might be able to attend, that would be great. a mobile would also be nice in the event of any issues.

Best regards

Nathan

Hi Nathan and Tim, found this map that shows road closures in Perth for the City to Surf event this 29 of August, looks like we should be OK for 10am at the Bell Tower and for people coming down from the North they can plan how not to get caught in the road blocks...

PS my two orders from AutohauseAZ look like they may get delivered on Thursday so fingers crossed she will be ready to drive on Sunday  :)

Might we be better avoiding the city centre and meeting somewhere a little peripherally.

Bill

TJ 450

Hmmm, a drive up in the Darling Ranges might be nice. 8) ;)

Nice pick up Julian,
i had also thought about this but thought it not an issue. two options, reconvene elsewhere or, meet at 1030 to allow clearance of roads.
the NEW MEETING PLACE WILL BE THE SOUTH PERTH ESPLANADE at 10:00AM, our previous meeting place. leave early if you foresee difficulties with arriving on time or let me know by mobile if issues!

as for that city to surf map, when will these morons appreciate that up to 10% of the male population have great difficulty interpreting red-green maps. i gave up and just suggest the above alternative route.

the merc club has kindly offered to forward my email but obviously short notice.

Chris V with red 6.9 previously said he was in but i have been unable to contact him via email this time.

I am unable to contact David Goss with the blue 6.9 for sale? did anyone have his phone number?

The Esplanade in South Perth is always a safe option... particularly considering the City to Surf.

I concur with the red/green maps issue. It all looks the same to me. ;)
