For anyone unaware, its available for anyone to use free on this website.

the address is http://handbook.w116.org/matrix6.htm

Why pay eBay scammers for a pirate copy, when its already on line here ?  8)

I tried to open the http://handbook.w116.org/matrix6.htm but when I select the model & the year of the car, nothing happened. Does anyone experience this problem too? Is the handbook offline?

You will need to make sure your web browser is up to date and has the latest version of Flash plugin and Adobe Reader at least.

It works fine for me. 8)

I run windows 7 ultimate 64bit

using the 64bit explorer you cant use flash as yet - as a 64bit flash installation is still under development.

However, there is a 32bit version of explorer included (which i dont use) and you can run flash on that.

moral of the story, windows 64bit web browsers with flash is still not officially possible (linux it is though) - not saying thats your problem though.

if your running a regular 32bit OS, just make sure youve got adobe flash installed.

The library manual works with Firefox, I run Gentoo linux but I'm sure Windows Firefox will work.

Yep, using Firefox (as always) with the latest adobe flash player add on (Firefox will ask/look for it if not already there) and works great  8)

I wasn't going to jump on the bandwagon, but I have been using Firefox right from the beginning.  No probs with the library. ;)

Just thought I'd point out that it is interesting that there seems to be a W116 / Linux correlation =]

I run Red Hat, Mandriva and Ubuntu, depending on which computer we're talking about. Sometimes on Windows, as now.

I agree wholeheartedly

I love Linux, it has made computers interesting again. As an IT specialist, I'm ashamed to of only just started playing with it in the last few months. It may seem like rocket science to start with to install even the most basic hardware/software that isn't instantly supported, but you learn quickly and then everything seems so logical. I feel that there is an enormous wealth of information out there on the web to for any keen noobz.

On my first ever experience with debian, i spent half a day screwing around with it trying to install java, now that i understand it, it now takes me about 30 seconds  ::)

I have played with ubuntu, openSUSE, redhat & fedora, one other i cant remember the name of. Debian is my favorite, its rock solid reliable as hell and very well supported.

The Java based w116.org online service manual visible and fully functional on my linux box is a rewarding experience in it self.
