That was fun to see the old Ford Granada, Cortina, Capri and Sierra. What is Perana? A tuning specialist?

s class

Yes Perana were always a tuning house specialising in Ford, but in the 70's and 80's they got more organised and designed and sold 'standard' Perana versions.  The recipe was usually the top of the line British Ford, with a small block American Ford V8 stuffed in.  Loud exhausts, period go-faster bits like chrome wheels and huge GT stripes.  They are not very refined cars but they appeal to the most basic parts of men!  Sound like any really tricked out American muscle car.  So don't mistake those Granadas for the one driven by Aunty Agnes.

I'd love a Mk1 Granada. Very rare over here. Most have rusted away. We never had one with a V8 in it though. Ours had the 3 litre V6 at the top of the range.
1978 450SEL 6.9 - GONE!

1979 450SEL - GONE!

Hhey ryan thanks for that I love the Perana Capri I don't know why Ford never did the transplant themselves. We have a few perana's that have made their way to OZ and do pretty well in historic class re Targa Tasmania and Adelaide Classic.
We never got the Granada over here but we had our own Falcon with 351 Cleveland and four slot manual or auto.

As you can see the Aussie falco of the same era as the Granada had the same DNA.Only more testosterone there were also some tweaked limited editon models like this one.

The last couple are slightly later models around 1982-3 the blue one is a special model Dick johnson Special 4 litre straight six with big turbocharger fitted.
