OK so some of you guys think you have big sheds........

This is what we saw when we arrived at the guys house :

Looks like a nice ordinary house with a nice double garage?  (the cars in front are us members who were visiting)

Closer up?

Well we go around the side and see this - his -um- other garage.

Man that is a big garage.  Still not impressed?

Look around the side  (cars outside are our members still)

What can I say?

A great scene, great cars and a great shed - presumably originally for cattle or horses or was it just built for cars?

Bill

gregdeklerk

Boys, there were about 150 cars in that shed and YES, they are all owned by one person!! He has one full time mechanic and 2 assistants to look after them. Unfortunately for the owner, he only has ONE butt, so he can only drive one at a time!! ;D

Bill, it was built specially for the cars as the shed is in the city, at a cost of ZAR 1 million.

We must have a pic of Mr De Klerk's carriage too, please.

But you have seen my carriage before haven't you?

I saw these pics and did what BC's Dalai dude did.  That's amazing.  Here are we Aussies telling the SA guys to come over.  Maybe we should go over there.

Can I ask how the owner came to afford so many?   I expected for a second to see the rainbow sheik's multicoloured w126's and colour coded AK47's.

And Greg, love that blue/cream.  ;)  But where's your front seats ???  :D  Just rubbing it in, sorry. ;)  It's a fantastic looking car.  Red/cream, blue/ cream and black/black my favourite colour combos.

Oscar, how many times have I been telling us guys to come over here!!

The owner of the cars does what many of you Aussies do - he is a sheep and cattle farmer. He also owned a Toyota dealership for many years so many of the cars were trade-ins that were just kept!!

Oscar, I may not have head rests, but at least I now have a left side mirror! :D

Trade-ins on Toyotas.  Yikes!!  Their loss his gain.

Astonishingly impressive collection and what a garage too ! What's the point of having several cars of the same model though ? Why would anyone want 4 R107s etc etc ?
1978 450SEL 6.9 - GONE!

1979 450SEL - GONE!

James,

he seems to be trying to get the whole range - in W114/5's for instance, he has a 200, a 220, a 230.4, a 230.6, a 280 (early with single cam motor) and a 280 (late with twin cam motor) - you get the picture.
