The pics that follow are all of the same PRIVATE collection.  I gather that normally all the cars squeeze into the garage, but for our visit they moved some out to create a bit of space inside.

Enjoy.  Oscar check the 350's with painted wheel wells.......

First up, W114 :

was there a Sale on white walled tyres that day???  ;D
sigh....sitting back contemplating the next purchase..!

s class

Must have been Chris,

most of the cars were fitted with brand new Cheng-Shin Maxxis 205/75R14.

White walls seem popular on old benzes with primarily the Afrikaans crowd here - and Bloemfontein is prevalently Afrikaans.

Hey S Class, why did you have to post the picture of me peering into the 350SE? ;D

s class

Greg, say the word and its removed.....  But you have to admit you did spend quite some time examining the 350...//

Nah - leave it. I am just glad I don't have an exposed butt.

WGB

And not a chromed wheelarch trim in sight - heaven

Boy those coloured wheel wells stick out :D.  Especially the ones on that chicken twisties yellow w116.

What's amazed me is how many pristine cars you guys have in one spot.  wonderful eye candy sclass, thanks for sharing.  It was worth waiting for.

As much as some people (WGB)  ;D don't like chrome arches, it seems a few feel the same about whitewalls.  I love 'em.  The w116 is probably the last MB to be able to get away with them.    IMHO ;)

That 350 that Greg's eyeing off.  Has it got chrome rocker panels and a chromed panel behind the rear wheels??  Bill, dare I ask what you think of them? ;D

One more question, all the w116's have two little red reflectors under the rear bumpers.  What's doing there?
1973 350SE, my first & fave

gregdeklerk

Oscar, the reflectors are unique to South African cars. They were dealer fitted and were fitted due to the legislation at the time. There are red ones at the back and white ones in front.
