"just getting everything sort as we speak are looking at the 20th starting in the morning at the linsey Fox museum for a look, going over the Dandenong mountains and making our way down the peninsula and catching the ferry across to Queenscliff then back up the other side of port Phillip finishing in the city for a bite that night is there any interest in any workshop visits or dyno displays that I could organise if anyone is keen."

MBCV already know of the event and I'm definitely going!  Just not sure which car will be ready in time!!

That Lindsay Fox museum and the maintenance workshop there would definitely be worth a look, methinks. I've not been but I've wanted to visit it for a while. I bet if y'all ring ahead and mention that you'll be arriving in a fleet of Mercedes with M100 engines they'd give you some kind of discount on entry. :P

Sounds like a rich, full day is planned. Hope you all enjoy yourselves.

Sounds like they'll be following the same route as the cancelled M100 tour from 2012....  Should be lots of fun!  I'm intending to take my red 6.9 and looking into club rego as we speak.  But I still have lots of work to do before she's safe and roadworthy

Hi Carl,
Judy and I attended this rally, kicking off at the Lindsay Fox car collection and then heading down the south eastern side of Melbourne to the Mornington peninsula. We had a great time catching up with other owners of these M100 cars, Although we felt outnumbered as we had the only W116 represented with our Gold 6.9. We had some interstate members with Art and Cheryl from Queensland and Anthony from Sydney both in 6.3"s. A few local petrol heads with various models including a 126 and a 124 coupe. A few more cars joined us along the way including Chris Stewart in an original looking and rare 300SE Finnie, it has same motor as the Gullwing ( 3lt in line fuel injected six ) apparently it is a real barn stormer with its very low diff. ratio of 4.01.

got to go sell something now, will be back soon with some photos
cheers
Rob
Here are some pictures of Matts beautifully restored 6.3 and the car park line up at the Fox collection and at Arthurs seat

Just following up on the rally, it was great to catch up with Mark (oversize), he apparently was on roster that day and had to work but made the time to meet up for lunch at the pub and share a few good stories.

some more pictures:
an interesting 108 ute with a ford 302 motor, a stunning car!
The red 6.3 out for the day on a temporary permit,
and Chris Stewarts with Art Love checking out his 300SE Finnie

We had some great actions photos taken by the authorized event photographer, I will see if I can put them this site.
cheers
Rob

Yep, that would have to be my favourite as well, the owner is from sydney and by the way he made a very good offer on my 16 " AMG'S that he thought would look good on his 109.

I asked him about the plates, he said they were on the car when he bought it, not sure if it was a standard issue for NSW.

I might see if I can get this photo printed, It's a good effect with the transparent barrier
