Title: LodeFest 2018, 8/30-9/2/18

Hope it's OK to post here about that.  There's a thread about it yet on the M-100 board.

Anyway, it's happening and it's going to be in scenic southwestern Oregon near Medford.  Venue is the Weusku Inn with some workshops, local scenic group drive, car show, wine tasting, etc.  Presumably more details will appear on the M-100 board.  I guess participation is limited to M100 drivers (300SEL 6.3, the mighty 600 and 450SEL 6.9).

As we all know, the M100 cars were greatly favored by dictators, potentates, rock stars and Hollywood personalities.  It's pretty clear that this concentration of M100s will open a dimensional portal allowing the transmission of their energy and riches to the current owners.  I seek to channel Frank Sinatra, Ringo and the Shah of Iran.  Sounds fun, I'm gonna go.

Dave I'd be interested in your take on the general vibe of "The Club". I am also a member of M100 with a 1000+ posts but I have always gotten a bit of a "holier than though" vibe over there.
In contrast I am much more at home over here. Maybe I'm just too much of a yokel at heart ;D

I've gotten a similar impression.  Definitely seems skewed towards fancy-schmancy.  I know the place and the general area where they did the last LodeFest and it's very fancy-schmancy indeed.  As for the forum, I've gotten a lot more help here.

The way they have the forum organized doesn't help IMO.  After all, so many of the 6.9 issues are really W116 issues, not M100 issues (whatever that would even mean).  Anyway, in the real world, the crossover between the M100 models seems to be almost nonexistent.  And yet, for example, they lump all the fuel systems together in one forum.  The 6.9 is actually more like the regular w116's (K-Jetronic) than the 6.3 if I recall.  At the end of the day it's pretty clear that their forum is struggling big time.

Regardless, I'll go and check it out.  Seeing some 660s is always fun.  I'm more of a beer and margarita guy that a fancy-schmancy  wine-sipper.  But I can clean up and hang with the wine-sippers for a while if I have to.   ::)  You're probably closer than I am.  You should go too!
