Is anyone else going with their car to the Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show in Terenure on July 3rd?
I'll be there with Goldilocks. Tickets are 15EUR per car, with driver and one passenger included in the price.
Due date for entry is June 17.

Hope to see you there!

"Minty" & I will be there on the Mercedes-Benz Club stand.

I can't wait to see Goldilocks in the metal - I saw her a few years ago at Swords (I think), so it'll be great to see the finished version.

For those interested, this show is Ireland's largest, and takes place yearly on the first Sunday of July. It is organised by the Irish Jaguar and Daimler Club, but is open to all makes of vehicles older than 30 years (with younger vehicles also admitted to club stands), and usually attracts around 1,000 - 1,200 exhibition vehicles. After 5 hours of cleaning and waxing, she's ready for the show tomorrow. I'm hardly a detailer, but she's come out pretty well.
I'm going with no expectations, but it'd be nice to get at least some recognition for the effort :D

Yep, stunning is the word of the day  :D

Which stand are you going to be on? (or are you going to be in the non-club area?)

Sorry, but I only had a chance to take one photo, but I know that ptashek took ones of his car, and will post them shortly. I'll also post any links to the show that I find on other Irish forums.
We asked ptashek to put his car on the Mercedes Benz Club stand, even though he is only a former member(!).

I haven't made many pics of my own car, but here's a few others I liked from across the field...

There's one thing standing out in all those sets - comparably, there's little content from the MB club stand. It may be not in the best position so far off of the main route. Something to consider for next year maybe?

I can't remember the judges making it our way either. Were they there?

All in all, it was a great show and getting better each year.

I think that the cars that get photographed are rare, and Mercs don't make the cut because there's always lots of of them at shows, and in Ireland especially, there are a lot of 30-45 year-old Mercs in use as daily drivers because of the Vintage/Veteran tax class, and because they last well and are relatively modern, so when you see one at a show, it isn't like you haven't seen one for ages. Mercs from before '72 are an older generation, and are much less likely to be daily drivers, but I noticed that, of the 60+ cars on the MB stand, only 5 were from that era (2 x W108 and 3 x 111/112).

The judges did pass through, but they didn't seem to be looking in depth at much of the cars - probably a bit of the "saw one yesterday" factor.

You did not hang a pine-tree refresher on that mirror, did you? ;D
