Sweet :-*

Supply and demand I guess. Here in NA you pretty much have to pay someone to take it off your hands :'(
Never mind the price of the 6.9, did you see how much a 2 figure historic number plate attracts :o

Yep, despite the ongoing 'financial crisis'. ::)
Like Dad would say 'i tell ya boy, you can clearly see the contempt God has for money simply by looking at the people he gives it all to'!
The fact someone would be thinking 'uuuummmm, a piece of tin painted black with two numbers painted in white; or most of the cars for sale at this auction.....' Good grief :-X
G
Yes, it's absolute nonsense, the whole exclusive plate thing. Just the thing to put on your equally as crass Lamborghini, hahaha.

yeahhhhhhh..I'm watching this with great interest. I'd rate mine about the same as this example........I am reliably informed there are a couple of other 6.9's for sale in Aus asking more.
This auction should estab a realistic value.
Heres the result. Tuesday 30 April from Shannons website
Item # 20 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9 Saloon "Passed In".
I wonder how much it got to?
Item # 72 Victorian Numerical Heritage Plate '59' $535,000

Looks like the 'Great Financial Crisis' actually did work for someone :-\

The 6.9 was passed in on a live bid off the floor @ $31,000
I daresay the $31,000 is probably a more realistic price unless selling to the UK or something.
Tim
I have been made aware of another 6.9 here in Oz asking $135K!!
then again ,there is a LWB 600 W100 asking $495K...........?
Yes, I heard about that 135k one, just a bit optimistic and so is the price of the 108 he's also got up for sale. If it sells it will be good news for the market, although until then I suspect buyers will want to pay as little as possible entry fee.

Looks like questionable manhood enlargement implements are as popular as ever ;)
I'd rather stuff a 6.9 down my pants; for effect of course ::)
Check this out, in Sydney now and the 'plate' crisis just got worse!
https://www.shannons.com.au/shannons/catalogues/2019-shannons-sydney-late-autumn-classic-auction/index.html?page=1
There is a heritage plate painted black on tin with two numbers painted white but less numerically than the $535K '59'er and it's valued at $700K :-X
But check out that 1961 Mercedes coupe! Looks like a future car from a Gerry Anderson series from the 1960s 8)
