Hello all

What wheels/rubber setup are you running on your W116?
Any pictures? recommendations?

I really like this style, they are what the Australian V8 supercars use, 18,12" obviousely this size will not fit the W116 but I am looking for a close match, only option I see so far is the AMG penta style

Hi Des,

Check out simmons b45's.  Simmons make three piece wheels and Jim Richards uses the brand (albeit in his Porsche for Taraga Tasmania.)  There was a 450sel recently on ebay in Albury-Wodonga that had B45's on and they looked great.  I can't bring up the listing anymore but I'll show u the photo if I end up finding it.  Here's a pic of the B45 from Simmons' website

Here's a handy link for anyone interested re stud pattern, offset etc http://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html

As far as what I ride on, well.  14" with coded hubcaps.  ::)  We're after the same thing Des.  I love the AMG penta look and the only other I've seen on ebay are Ronal look-a-likes.  Happy Hunting.

I ride on AMG Penta - 16 x 8's with 225/50's all around; handles and rides very well for its age!

sigh....sitting back contemplating the next purchase..!

Des, found that link. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1974-MERC-450-SEL_W0QQitemZ280005015636QQihZ018QQcategoryZ84600QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Also asked a mate of mine that's a Holden nut and he said the Holden racing team wear OZ wheels which are Italian.  Only found non Aussie sites so I don't know where you'd get em.  I'd still like ChrisM's wheels.  Great combo.

Got sidetracked yesterday on some citroen links and found this site http://www.stuckey.com.au/wheels_details.aspx
The MS wheel versions pictured below looked promising with 5 studs possible but they only come in 13".  Don't know how they'd go on a 116  ::) :o  There's some other notable wheels that are worth a look there.

The largest wheels I'm running on are 20" with 245/35 R20 tires and the smallest are 13" knock off wire spokes.
