What Is The Part Number For The Rubber Mounting Grommets For The Condenser?

Does anyone know the part number for the rubber mounting grommets for the condenser? The originals have crumbled with age and the generic ones I picked up at the hardware store were cheap rubber and dry rotted within a month and now look worse than the originals. I have looked in EPC before and it seems they were not shown, and I no longer have access to EPC. Thanks.

I'm guessing these aren't available from Mercedes as they were part of the condenser, which may have been supplied by a manufacturer in the USA. I was hoping to get some nice new genuine Mercedes ones made of German rubber so they don't dry rot like the hardware store ones did. Hopefully I can find a supplier that makes them out of actually decent rubber.

EPC is being wicked evil. Browsing through other chassis numbers, the grommets have shown up, but each time they are greyed out and show "*** Item no. not valid for this model des." Under the W107 chassis, it shows them under "83 HEATING AND VENTILATION, 195 REFRIGERANT LINE ARRANGEMENT".

Under the W124 chassis, it shows them under "83 HEATING AND VENTILATION, 56106 - ADDIT. FAN BRACKET & A/C CONDENSER (FOR TYPE 124, 140, 201, SEE STANDARD VERSION)".

I tried measuring one of the installed rotten grommets as best as I could. They seem to measure 7mm inner diameter, fit 13mm? hole size, and a 16mm outer diameter. I found part number 0009973181 which seems spot-on according to Authentic Classics, as the inner diameter is the same at 7mm, a 10mm measurement which I assume is the hole size, and in the picture it measure 16mm wide. Maybe these will work. http://www.authenticclassics.com/GROMMET-FOR-WINDSHIELD-WASHER-HOSES-IN-COWL-p/auth-004523.htm

You know, if members here would send me good samples of NLAgrommets, I would go the extra mile and visit a dozen producers here. There are oceans of automotive companies right where i am at, producing everything and then some, sold and re-branded by US and Euro corporations. Bolts, rubbers, shims, bearings, it's an endless list, and the Taiwan way is that you can simply walk into any factory and get your helpful answer. I could do 10 international grommet-empire companies in a week, without it denting my schedule much. Pretty decent chance there are replacements there for anything, within acceptable fitment tolerances. Cheap as dirt as well, in all cases., rights size or not.
I would prefer to make it a combi-event, with a at least a handful of samples to go source..
As usual, I would not be adding any profit.

If you can get them made with good-quality rubber, that would be wonderful. I can get some of the grommets I need locally at the hardware store, but the problem is they are made of such poor quality rubber that they dry rot within a month. It seems parts for the W116 are drying up and the remaining parts are getting very expensive--it makes me fear the golden age for owning a W116 and driving it for cheap is past.

I was digging through a box of rubber parts and I found an original grommet. It's in better condition than the ones I got from the hardware store, which started looking bad within a month. A metal grommet fits inside of them, but they can be reused. Unfortunately, there is no part number on the rubber grommet, but it appears to be the same dimensions as part number 0009973181 shown on Authentic Classics' website. I might take a gamble and order five of them (four for the condenser, one for the air conditioning line attached at the body).

I now have in my possession the correct genuine Mercedes rubber condenser grommets! After much research and guessing, I have discovered they are part number 000 997 31 81. These should last a lot longer than the ones I got at the hardware store that dry rotted in about a month.

The old one is a bit weathered and squished, otherwise the new ones are identical in size and shape.

I know you guys are just dying to go out and replace your condenser grommets!
