W116 wall art / monument

Hi guys,

Im in the stages of considering a new home with more acceptable garage space.  Hence, some wall art is in order, covering slightly more space than i currently have in memorabilia.  Hence, the latest 116 wreck (6.9 #1781) was dissected to enable it to be attached to the wall. When the time comes (another year or so at least!), ill attach all trim, somehow cut the wheels in half (width) and so on to permanently embed it on the wall!

please remember i bought this car stripped and it was beyond salvage, the bodywork had been filled with fibreglass and the interior stripped.

PS: Save your 6.9 rims - there are narrower widths of 14" Mexican Hat/Bundt Cake alloys for smaller/more common MB models than the 6.9, which would be less sacrilegious to cut in half - ironically, their narrower width would not be an issue in the finished article!

Good point Type. I have a lot of Bundt from wrecking many 116s. saying that, I have about 3 sets of '6.9' bundts!
I think this should look pretty cool when done, but the house hasn't even started being built yet so a long way to go!

In the meantime this has me daydreaming about my one-day-future-man-cave-retro-showroom.
I am picturing having 2 half cars, on either side of the wall, with the car door windows functioning as actual windows in the wall.
How cool would that be?
