Ahhh... it was bound to happen when all the V8 and V12 badges are so readily available.

I just wonder whether the car actually has a V12 in it's engine bay...?  ???

doubt it

:D  :D
Would be a interesting mod though W140 V12 in a 450SEL body

Hmmm... the 6.9 is quite a tight fit, at least in terms of height.

I don't know much about V12's, but I'd have to wonder whether it would be possible to squeeze one into the engine bay at all.

Mind you, people have always shoehorned big V8's into little Corolla's and whatnot so anything's possible. 8)

I would prefer a 6.9 motor over the V12
V12 might have more HP but the 6.9 has more torque

6.9 when new in high compression form had 298HP, it wouldn't hard to squeeze some more out with a rebuilt motor, bigger high compression pistons modern fuel management etc.. etc... as seen recently by that crazy guy with the 700HP + car
;D  ;D

its all money though.

Des, c'mon, you've done well to find the pics now show us under the bonnet.

Re those pics Michel: I've said it before but WHY do they cover the beauty of a V12 merc with all that "dress up" plastic crap.  The bottom pic in particular which seems the norm for all now - wouldn't you rather see ///AMG moulded onto an alloy cam cover rather than a piece of plastic covering the beast.  Naked motors rock.  How else can I put it.

13B, you were wondering about a V8 badge on the c-pillar weren't you??  What do you make of the V12 badge - like or dislike?

My first thought was Really??  But then Des wont show us the engine bay :( ;)  But I'm not too sure I like the idea of that badge.
1973 350SE, my first & fave

Sadly Oscar, no engine bay pictures

probably a 280SEL,

:D  :D

And hence one of the reasons why it had a dry sump so that they could fit it under the lower bonnet line of the W116 body - as well as providing oil when going around corners.

That depends PB...

I'm sure some owners of non-6.9's have service intervals of 2 years...  :o ;)

NOT me btw, but with some of the neglected ones you see on the net and people report the gunk in them, you would swear that was the case. :)

Should I be punished ?

I dunno, probably not.

They say whatever comes first, and certainly I would have thought you would have gone well past the interval date. But with such short mileage....?
