Here's a strange one. Euro '78 350 with a 4-speed manual and US Headlamps. 15 inch bundts and power front windows only. Seller says $50,000 worth of work.  ::)

kids always want what we dont have.  In USA we drool over euro headlights,  In euro and aussy they want US lights.

Just gotta be different.

Here's a strange one.

It is indeed. Pretty low spec, for a euro 350 to be honest. Looks like the electric fronts are just a conversion, not an OEM install. No OEM car had plugs in the door panels where the manual handles would have been. That manual four-speed is nice though. Still, I can't see where that $50k went on this car, and the lack of underside shots is not helping. It'd be interesting to see if, and for how much it sells.

Looks nice, W116s are handsome in the dark reds. I've only ever seen one 350se 4 speed in the wild, and it was a rust bucket at a Mercedes salvage yard. The guy was thinking that he was going to move so he was selling cars (didn't end up moving). He wouldn't sell that one though because he wanted to stick the "ran when parked" drivetrain in a w123 wagon. Later came to tell me that someone came by and wanted to buy the drivetrain from him so he told him a "crazy" price of $1500 for the car. That was earlier this year so I imagine that it may still available. He also had a full hydro 450SEL (of the non 6.9 variety) rust bucket with the LSD rear diff that he didn't want to sell parts from, but I contemplate messaging him and asking him what his "crazy" price would be for the rear diff.

Why are the rockers painted chassis color, and why are the wheel wells black?!  I see evidence of it having a towing package, but where is the trailer hitch?

and for that kind a money, those  15" Bundts better be Fuchs, and not ATS or some other brand.

And what's wrong with the ATS, apart from them not being Fuchs branded, and having very minor visual differences nobody really cares about? :)

They have a valid German KBA cert for the W116, and good luck getting that if the rim was crap.

I have two sets of 15" and they're perfect after thousands km on the road. Fuchs is better just as much as "OEM parts are of highest quality" ;)

Maybe the Fuchs is lighter, being forged not cast, but I'd rather have a great rim at a fair price (700EUR/set), than an OEM unicorn at exorbitant cost (>500EUR/rim).
