Really very pleased with the Nokian tires we had a couple of years ago on a SUV.

For RWD (in a rural very snowy section of NY State) I always run 4 studded snow tires with additional weight in the trunk. No problems.

NY State law allows studded snows to be used from October 15-May 1 I believe.
