Pics from today..

Scruitneering was the payoff of all the work completed on the car to prepare it.
They did a quick check over, and signed off straight away.

Only did Masters Class today (3 laps at 3/4 pace behind a pace car to instruct the lines/apex of each corner).

Hook into practise and events tomorrow.

Some other interesting entrants also..... However, there is not a single other Benz at the event.

Enjoy! :)

Cool! You ever entertain swapping all the bits into a shorty SE?

Yeah, sorry. I didn't look long enough I guess to realize it's an SE. You have an M100 in there?

Hi nutz yes if you look back at Cams post you will see that his 450se is powered by a New Old Stock Euro M-100 and i am envyous as Cam is 150kg lighter than my car to begin with and as every 10kg saved is the equelavant of 1hp that means without his lower ratio diff i need to be making at least 300hp against Cams 286hp to run with him :'( but taking diff ratio into account at least 320hp is required for similar performance. By the Way Great photos Cam ;D

Thanks Geoff.. Yes Nutz, it's got the 6.9 drivetrain in it.  Interesting information on the figures VS diff ratio.  Un-fortunately the diff ratio for this track isn't quite right.  I'm doing 205kph @redline down conrod.  With the 6.9 diff I reckon I'd be able to wind out to at least 230/240.  It gets to redline still with about half or a bit more of conrod straight left... :(  Oh well.  next year.

Today's the action day though, will have some nice pics and vid for y'all tonight.

This is awsome Cam.  On the TV on Saturday they showed a Prosche Cup challenge something or other that was at Bathurst a few weeks back.   An event that was washed out but plenty of spills and shunts I don't know how they do it on a dry track let alone a wet one.  It's gotta be the toughest closed circuit in Aus with a hillclimb thrown in to spice things up, you're doing us proud.  Is that Ant's commodore wagon?  Didn't realise he was going up there.  What's his top speed in his ship and hows he going?

Saw a 6.9 diff on ebay last week for about $800 I think.  Shame the 450's doesn't wind out a bit more but I didn't realise the 690 didn't have one.  Oh well, like you say, next year.  Good luck for the remainder.

In my younger and stupider years, i did that speed on public roads several times and my old engine has 300k on it, so for you it'll be no problem at all  8)

M100-powered, huh? I have a 600SE badge that might look nice on there. ;)

Thanks Fella's..

Oscar, Ant's wagon is out there.  :o  Our team copped a heap of flack on the first day with people saying "who takes the family car's out there?"
Then they saw the times.  Ant, in that wagon is pulling 2m46s - but his diff has also suffered.. still, cracker times.
My unofficial times from practise were a 3m14s.. but expect about 10secs less today.

I had uploaded a video, but youtube removed it cause it's too long. 28mins.. will have to complete some editing etc, then upload again when I get home.

Hahah.. Nathan, I felt like I hit a speed hump, didn't realise it was the Porsche... ;)  That dude was taking it well easy being $1Mil + worth of car.

Thanks Geoff, the diff will be needed for next year for sure.. should have some extra herbs under the hood by then too.
