This one is a 73 Euro 350SE. It was selling on ebay. The PO father bought the car in from Italy back in the early 80's. The car is quite the poverty model.

Manual windows
MB-Tex
No A/C

Some hooligan smashed in all the windows, which should make it fun to transport.

Nothing wrong with a 'poverty' model at all! Fewer things to go wrong and cause issues :P

Shame about the windows :'( At least it has good A/C now! :P

Is that a manual transmission ??? :o

Well congrats Al, welcome to the poverty 116 club. :D  I prefer "streamlined version", ie without the unecessary accesories ;)

Like Mforcer says, I've found it true that the less inclusions, the less I have to fix and it's fun to work on them and learn from the base models before I step up later to a 6.9 with all the bells-and-whistles.  My desire for one hasn't waned. Though I think a 4.5 450sel will be my next addition.

The only differences between yours and mine (apart from condition) that I can see concerning extras is the manual trans and a/c and then of course your blue interior.  I'd have no complaints if my 350 had a 4spd manual.  That would be fun. :)

So there's Musty, Crusty, Rusty and now what?  Dusty?
What are your plans for it?

Hi alabbasi,
Tracking down spare w116's and bringing them back from the brink of the crusher is half the fun. Then the work starts, but in the end if it all works out there is great satifacation to be had. Shame about the windows.

Why do you want 3 of them ? Do you enjoy restoring them or are you after one of each ?

Alabbasi,

Congrats.  That 350 looks like itew been standing unused for some time.  I drove a 350SE manual once.  It was very very nice.  Quite different character to the autos.  It was much more sporty and fun - and quick too.  350 manuals are rare too.

James - of course!  I would love to have one of each myself.  Well, to keep it maneagable, perhaps one of each engine type - I wouldnt have space for an SE and an SEL of each engine.  Plus that way I wouldn't have to struggle so much to pick a colour - I could have all my favourite colours  ;D
