Just seen a few in California, from the CalTrain. Two W116 (silver/silver-green and milan brown 450SEL), two W123, two W124 and a C123 (230CE). That's not bad for a 45 minute train ride ;)

On monday I counted 5 w126s in the space of a 15 min walk home! Most w126s I see nowdays are unfortunately real tatty looking. Not one w116 seen for weeks! West hobart had an infestation for 6 months- then nothing. Im suspecting people started buying what neighbours had then realised what they had was too tired to keep-

Yesterday I spotted a yellowish w116 on Gourlay rd Hillside. It always makes my day seeing a w116 be it mine or someone else's, they are such a dam fine auto mobile :)

The only place I ever seem to see W116s is in the wrecking yards. But, the other day I saw a Milan Brown 450SE with Euro headlights and yellow primer spots on the hood driving through the intersection in front of me.

Beastie

I saw a nice W116 around the Glen Osmond area over the weekend. I wasn't in my own car so there was no wave or eye contact or anything.

It was a big one! Looked to be a long wheelbase, signal red, with them chrome wheelarch flairs. It had personalised number plates and seemed to be in good shape and probably owned by an enthusiast.

They're at that age now where all of the rough ones have been scrapped. Any time I see one these days it's in pretty good shape and driven by a man with a very impressive beard who likely takes good care of it and should really consider stopping by the ORG for a cup of tea and biscuit. ;)
