You can vote for what ever you got to a max of 3 of each type and presuming they're either driveable and roadworthy, or could be without much fuss.  No wrecks or dismantlers in other words.

I doubt there's too many forum members with more than three of one type but feel free to say so in a post.  Hearse, Crayford wagons ambulances or any other special vehicles can be included as their base models.

So, what's out there?

Oops.  Talk about short memory.

Des did one 7-8 months ago. http://forum.w116.org/test-drive/what-w116-do-you-owndrive/0/

Should we cancel this one or see what difference there is?  Should we run a poll to see whether we should cancel this one? ::)

Either way, 6.9ers won the last one.

I take it Des has sold his car and moved on.

He was too young to have died a natural death and like Patrick provided a certain amount of necessary "Civil Disobedience" which I greatly admire in appropriate doses.

I'm not as young as Des but I still fit the profile.  :-/

450SEL 6.9 #5440 = V MB 690 , 450SE # 43094 = 02010 H , 190E/turbo # 31548 = AOH 68K

crayford

Ahem...could not answer poll as NO Crayford option box to tick  :o :o

He may be a 280SE, but he deserves to feel special with his Granada toupee... 8)

Crayford, how come your 280SE is a "he" and my 280SE is a "she"?

If Crayford's 280se was a she, would that make her a lesbian? There is no other word for two ladies who are very intimate is there?

crayford

Gentlemen, please...what my Crayfords and I get up to in our own time is private. What happens in the garage, stays in the garage  ;).

My cars have always been 'shes' (with no lesbotic tendencies, thank you), but these two Crayfords came to me with names already: 'Kermit' originating on this site and the MBCNSW site, due to his vibrant shade of green, and Rolf as a tip of the hat to his former owner. It seems wrong to change their names this late in their lives, so now I have two male chauffeurs. And very accomodating they are, too.

As for the 350SE, it has been stripped of everything except it's dignity (can you ever strip a 116 of dignity?), so it's gender-neutral.

oscar

lesbotic :D.
My 350se is asexual but sometimes chaotic as opposed to gayotic. :D  I found out that my rotor is stuffed yesterday.  The bit that locks it to the dizzy's shaft has crumbled and barely holding on.  It's in limp mode whilst I source a new one.

Don't keep us in suspense!! What's the plan? Kidnap Mercules and his car?

Sorry BC, only just saw this - have been MIA for a couple days.

Mercules and i discussed the possibility of me making a purchase of his unique vehicle.
We are yet to discuss in detail though...so if you can hear me cam..   ;)

I've just been thinking to myself....
If the 6.9 is currently the most collectable model and the other lesser examples e.g: 280s base model are pooh-poohed surely there will come a time when the number of surviving 6.9's outweight the inferior stock. Therefore this will cause an inversion of interest and the value of the surviving lesser models will increase and, conversely, the 6.9's should devalue?

Thoughts please.......
