Well, our first Meet for Perth, Australia's 6.9 owners was a great success on a magic Perth day - sunshine and 35 degrees C! We met at Parliament Place at 11am and got to know each other and jointly admire 6 6.9's in red, blue, silver and hold!  Thats 42litres of Germany's finest - or about 1290kilowatts or 1716Horse power!!! We talked shop for an hour and admired cars, options, modifications etc before a quick "fang" up the freeway and a leisurely (well, mostly!) cruise down teh Perth coastal beaches before Lunch at CBlue restaurant at Cottesloe Beach - quite simply superb!! More photos will be added to the Gallery and in teh meantime Thanks to everyone who came along - we will do it again soon!!

sigh....sitting back contemplating the next purchase..!

Sounds like you guys had a great day! Can't wait to see the rest of the photos and hear some of the stories. We will organise something similar on the other side of the country.

Interesting that at least two of those cars have trailer hitches - were those MB accessory hitches and what is/was towed I wonder?

Wow, what a lineup.  Bet you lot got a few looks.  What a sight!  To get a few 116's together is one thing but 6 x 6.9's, well done.  Look forward for more photos.

I'd love to hear more history behind the cars.  Many 116's may have interesting pasts but considering the status and price of a 6.9 I'd assume their history of ownership would be that more intriguing.  For instance, how many Perth 6.9's were owned by Bondy? ;D  (Alan Bond, former entrepreneur of the 80's for the non-Aussie)(How could I forget, USA folks would remember the name over a little yacht race in '83) :)

John, I forgot to add re the trailer hitches/towbars, check out the showroom in the gallery, 7th picture is of Styria's Gleaming Beauty.  I met up with Styria last year and besides from being impressed with his car in general, he showed me the towbar which is original and like no other I've seen before.
