Parts that are still available, but not too expensive

This post is exactly what the title says.  I'll try to categorize all of this into three categories: Mechanical, Interior, and Body.  This list won't cover things like hardware or oil filters.  This list is meant for lesser needed items that we're all of a sudden finding ourselves needing.  As I confirm price and availability of more parts, I'll edit this post adding them accordingly.  Prices will be in U.S. dollars, and said prices shall reflect both wholesale and list prices.  Please be respectful of the fact that shops will charge full list price or close to it.  In addition to labor, Part mark up is a large part of what a shop or shop owner brings in for profit.

This will be an ongoing list, and as any of the parts listed become no longer available, we'll have to mark them as such. In addition, prices listed are current.  They change quarterly, if not sooner.  However, the prices listed will be a close representation of what the actual cost is.   And please feel free to add to the list!  :)  So here we go with my small, but hopefully helpful, list:

I wish... It's between 550EUR and 730EUR in Europe, depending on supplier and local VAT tax! And some won't ship outside their own country claiming some new MB policy prohibiting it.
It really annoys me greatly that the US can get those parts for so much cheaper, than we can get them in Europe buying from a supplier located within several hundred kilometres from Fellbach, where the entire OEM stock resides. It's a rather bizarre situation.

Also, this list should once and for all answer the question of which interior colour was the most popular :)

If it's any help, all of the parts in my restoration list were available between mid-2012 and end-of 2015: https://goo.gl/WgoZlB

Thank you for the information about the grill emblem, Rumb.  Noted.  :)

Ptashek.....whether it be leather, MB tex, or velour, I'd venture to say that either blue or bamboo were the most common colors, at least state side.  I could be very wrong, but those are what I've seen the most.

The only reason the U.S. has less expensive glass is because Mercedes-Benz of North America uses Pilkington Glass Company here in the U.S. to make most, if not all, of their windshields.  In essence, a glass usually won't have to come from Germany.  Though, I did order a heated rear glass two or three weeks ago that had to come from Germany.  It seems that they put any item from Germany on a fishing boat causing one to two month delays in the part showing up.  I hope it doesn't arrive broken....it was supposedly the last one.

....it was supposedly the last one.

That is very bad news, considering how they almost always have failed defroster mechanisms due to water getting to the lower glass.

Can't find a P/N or reference in EPC for the earlier exterior filament version which seems to last forever, though it does list "as of" chassis numbers for the newer internal filament P/N shown above.

That makes sense. It's interesting though, since the original glass was made by Sekurit, which is now a brand name owned by Saint Gobain.
There's a company in Germany that sells reproduction glass made by - you guessed it - Saint Gobain. They might have the rear glass too, albeit they list limited availability.
http://www.classic-autoglas.com/mercedes-s-klasse-w116-frontscheibe/1471

Their windscreens are ~5mm thick (green, heat absorbing) while the original is ~5.8mm.
I was talking to them, and they claim to have the ability to basically make *any* reproduction based on an original.

Might be worth keeping on the "emergency parts suppliers" list ;)

Guillaume C:  The part number that you show to still be available  is the part number  that I ordered.  It's also the part number that both Paragon and Classic only showed 1 left of.  Hopefully they'll replenish stock, but likely won't, as the cost to reproduce will increase the price of the rear glass by double.

Here is a list of all the rear glass options for W116 cars.  Of the 6 different part numbers, only the 116-670-08-80 seems to be a good number and/or available.

116-670-07-80  clear, heated, single sheet safety glass
116-670-08-80  clear, heated, heat absorbing, single sheet safety glass
116-670-09-80  clear, heated, compound glass

116-670-10-80  clear, heat absorbing, heated, compound glass

Noticed that the trunk rubber mat is still available, but what are all these insulation parts?
To all you specialists.. which one should I grab?

Stan, you're really going to have to start learning how to reverse navigate part numbers on EPC.  It's simple.  Click on search, then click part, then a window pops up.  At the top there will be about 6 criteria for searching.  Always click the "Part without vehicle data" icon.  Type in your part number, proceeded by the letter "A", of course, and hit enter when complete.  This will then show you which chassis and which markets you want to apply your search to.  Make your choice, and click on it.  You must be very familiar with chassis numbers and what they mean, such as "116.020" (280S) or "116.120" (300SD), etc.  Sometimes another window will pop up asking you exactly which model you want to concentrate on.  After all of that, it'll take you to the picture and the part number list of the chassis that you chose. and you're done.

My question initially, was.. what parts should I grab, considering threatening NLA issues, but also regarding insulation parts that are not easy to replace with dynamat.
But sure, the hood pad should have been avoided in this list with more EPC skills.

insulation parts that are not easy to replace with dynamat

Almost all of the insulation can be easily replaced with dynamat-like products, with exception maybe for the felt pad underneath the rear bench, and the floor pads. The rest is fair game. And if it's out of sight I wouldn't even bother going original, because - frankly - the original insulation is a pile of junk I'd expect in a Trabant, not a Benz.
