Almost all of the insulation can be easily replaced with dynamat-like products, with exception maybe for the felt pad underneath the rear bench, and the floor pads. The rest is fair game. And if it's out of sight I wouldn't even bother going original, because - frankly - the original insulation is a pile of junk I'd expect in a Trabant, not a Benz.


Having driven a Trabant, I can vouch first hand that it could do with W116 insulation mats.

I've owned a Trabant 601 once. It was a hoot to drive, provided you got the fuel/oil mixture right :D Otherwise it was just a mobile, military grade, smoke screen generator.
