Gee that's a risky strategy  My bride trolls thought the classifieds for both of us and when she finds something that might suit she suggests I go and have a look.  She knows me well enough that I will bring it home if its worthwhile.  I am lucky that she is cool with this.

I went to a Merc wreckers today looking for a few bits and pieces including a left hand tail light.  I didn't want to harvest the resto 280 SE unless I had to.  They wanted $175.  I only paid $200 for the parts car now resto.  Just goes to show that parts cars are definitely the way to go.

I think I'll have to find another parts car.  Any stray 6.9s laying around down there oversize

LOL Tail lights were the reason I bought the 280S, Both newish OEM units.........

Luckily the tail lights on my '69 115 are all good.  Apparently the early non ribbed ones are close to $500 now.  Unfortunately 115 parts cars don't come up often these days.

Nah I think I got them all!!  LMAO!      And you're spot-on.  Miles cheaper to buy a whole car than buy individual parts from the wreckers.  Check WA they seem to have a few over there....

They seem to mainly be in WA and Vic....  I'll just have to keep looking
