Hi,

I got my copy today and it doesn't take you long to get through it and come to a conclusion:  It is a nice and cheap book to have for the W116 Enthusiast but it is far from being essential as a guide along the way of checking the cars for risks, notorious areas and hidden bugs specific for W116 or individual types.

Technical information on W116 in general is very poor and the offered way of checking a used car is valid for any other car and repeatedly sound like adressing car dudes:  Lift the Floor mats, does the engine compartment look clean?  Check Chrome for pitting, look under the battery for signs of acid leakage.

The book is from 2020 and published in the UK. So considerations of value, parts availabilty and serviceability seem up to date for the UK.
I'd say that this the Mercedes book to look into for someone who intends to buy a big Limousine and doesn't yet know which brand. It may be helpful in deciding whether a Merc, Jag or anything comparable is more attractive, if he Looks as well into Jag and anything comparable books.
