had a look around some self serve wreckers today..theres always a remarkable number of 116s..
i regularly go to the centre rd wreckers in springvale, which hasnt had anything new for ages every 116 pretty gutted, but noticed there two new arrivals. there was a byzantine gold 450SEL with a shocking paint job, possibly only useful for mechanical bits..body and interior pretty rubbish..also though a silver green (861) 280SE with damn near perfect moss interior, probably the first ive seen. ANYONE WITH MOSS INTERIOR? jump on it quick :P made sure all the doors and windows were shut before i moved on.

pickapart in kilsyth turned up the goods too. one of the cars had a close to immaculate bamboo itnterior, and i think i saw one with a nickle green paintjob. you could probably get a full set of good chrome too without too much trouble.
wish my phone camera worked so i could make this a decent resource :P

Well isn't that funny; I was there only yesterday!  I urgently needed a rear wheel hub for my Fairmont IRS and was lucky enough to find one but it was a mongrel to get off!

I got the tail lights off that 280SE along with a few other bits....  The fuel in the tank had gone off and it stank out the whole car!  It was a DJet and it looked like someone had put sand or sugar into the fuel tank....  I was eyeing off the sheepskins on the front seats, until I realized they'd turned to powder!

Seems they've run out of space for MBs and they're mixing them with other makes.  The new arrivals looked in a very sad state and probably not much to salvage off them.

I took a couple of pix of a couple of unusual cars which I'll post shortly

Found at the same wrecker; what are these MBs?  Looks like they're missing the drivelines, so I'm not sure if anyone would want to save them....

Those look like Pontons if I'm not mistaken.

How the hell do decent looking pontons end up at the wreckers?
