It has been a while since I have posted something here. More than 2 years, shame on me. But a lot has happened since. The engine was running on only 5 of the 8 cylinders. We (Me and my dad) fixed that with a complete overhaul of the cylinder heads.

Unfortunately the D-jetronic injection was flooding the engine with fuel, but my and my dad's knowledge about such a system is limited, so we took the car to one of the best classic Mercedes-Benz garages in the Netherlands, Gruyter en de Jong. We had to go by truck, because the car's MOT was expired.









Three different components seemed to be failing, they were replaced and the engine runs extremely smooth now.

Last week we finished our latest project on the 350, refurbishing the back end of the car.

After ten years I think it is time for an update.

I still own the 350, which has been in my possession for 14 years now. But with graduating, moving out of my parents place, buying a home, getting married and having two kids. The 350 wasn't the first thing on my mind.

The cylinder head revision worked like a charm. Recently clocked her on 17L/100 on 98 octane and the engine runs and starts great. The only issue is the cold starts; the air valve is bust, changed it for 2nd hand one, which had a similar issue. So the revs go up and down when the car is in Park or Neutral. After 1km or under load the issue is gone, so it is not on the top of my list.

I have changed the wheels to steel with the iconic hub caps. Installed the roof spoiler for the sunroof. Replaced the front window seal.

Next is the interior. The carpets are pretty far gone, so I am looking for replacements. Will be a fun winter activity.

Recently I installed two child seats, so we can have fun with the entire family. Especially my 3 year old daughter loves the car.
