Is the price right?

It was on eBay too. This guy is dreaming.

I just really have a hard time paying lots of money for diesel 116 when there are plenty of decent cars out for a few thousand dollars. I'd probably have a hard time paying $14,000 for a 6.9.

It's a lot of money, but it's difficult to find nice W116 300SDs anymore. It seems like they all have fried interiors, non-working climate control, electronic issues, bad weatherstripping, iffy brakes, missing parts, rigged repairs, and leak fluids all over (at least the ones for sale). The really nice ones tend to end up in the wrecking yards so you never get a chance to buy them. I think the original owners tend to hand them down to family who ends up neglecting them and then by the time they end up for sale, they are trashed. Or, the original owner just has them hauled off because they have enough money that they don't care about selling them, they just want them off the property.

I think the 300sd suffered almost as much as the 6.9
in the neglect department. "These Benz diesels run forever"
comes to mind...
