Maybe it's a left-hand drive thing? Or a 6.9 Australia scarcity thing?

Maybe these cars have finally come of age and a being valued for what they are worth.

It was and an Australian delivered right hand drive and we have a good share of them here in Australia.

It was interesting to see it go for that price, and as said elsewhere it has caused a bit of a stir. I suspect it's just a case of someone was prepared to pay for that particular car due to its lowish mileage and original condition. For various reasons I would suspect these will be the cars worth something going forward, not the ones that have already been restored as you never know how well it was done, etc.
