I'm SO bad!!! ☺

Driving along the SE freeway late this arvo doing 115kph and was passed by a 2007 BMW 530i along with two 4WDs all doing about 140 (together).
Thought to myself, "let them go".
However, they slowed down to 115 and I caught up and passed them.
WELL, that made them accelerate to catch up.
Planted the 6.9 and outpaced the BMW (left the 4WDs behind, of course).
Slowed down after getting up to 160 and they passed me again.
After following them for a while at 115, I got up next to the BMW and we "gunned it" together.
I got in front and he could barely keep up with me to 220kph on my speedo, where I then turned off the freeway to go home.
Haha, bet he was pissed off that his late model V8 got shut down by an old '70s Merc... ;D ;D

I'm so bad, will I be in trouble for this????

BTW, it was so smooth at this speed, I'm also a bad influence on my 15yo son who was enjoying every minute!!

530i is a 3.0 liter 24V inline 6

Bandolero

Yes, you're right, it is a 6 cyl of 255hp. Still a fast car that apparently is supposed to do 6.7 secs 0-100kph and 150mph.
Probably factory tested with a 60kg test driver and in peak tune.
The one I left behind had 4 people in it. ☺

Yes, I know what could've happened if I was caught.
However I drive on that road all the time and know where the radar guns normally hang out.
I was sure I would be ok and luckily I was....All good. ☺
Won't be doing that again in a hurry as next time I may not be so lucky....besides, next time I might lose the race..hahaha.  :(  (Along with my license.)
It is good to know that the car is still performing as it should.

hehe, brilliant!

If you get in trouble, just swap your speedo face out for one of those 85mph ones and say there's no way you could've been going that fast.

How did it feel at those speeds?  My diesel poops out at about 177 kph but she feels solid and doesn't complain  8)

125 kph is "hammer lane" speed here in Ga with the limit at 112 kph.

You get in MT gun to head trouble here if you get pinched in the 220 kph area  :o  I got in BIG trouble when clocked at 147 mph. I did manage to outrun THAT trooper but he called some friends to the roadside disco...

Bandolero

It was great at that speed, not much wind noise, smooth and stable.
I could tell the motor was working hard but it performed well with no missing etc.
Saw just a touch over 5000rpm on the tacho and if I kept pushing it, I think I could've got a bit more out of her.
(Redline is 5300.)

Sounded like a good run lol

Personally though I behave when I have passengers, and kids talk too much......

TJ 450

I've never driven that fast... in any car. 8) 180kph tops. ;)

A car without issues should be pretty stable at that speed though.

I really hope you followed the manufacturer's instructions...

Did you top the tyres up by the recommended +4psi?  If not you're really reckless!

Who only knows, if you were to drive at "more than 110mph", what would the minimum distance between filling stations be?  I suspect the journey would be really very short even if one started with a full tank of fuel.

Might be a short trip but I bet you coast a while further lol

Bandolero

Yes, I always run with 40psi in the front and 35psi in the rear.
The higher pressures in the front tyres make the car handle so much better and the tread still wears evenly. ☺
