Hey Noddy was that the one you left in the UK along with all of its rust?

robgee

No Greg it was Aussie delivered the one I left in the UK was a 1992/3 S500 and you know what,  they rustproofed them better so fortunately no rust on the body underneath I'm not so sure about. ???

Three.

'77 280SEL Euro, 4-Speed Manual, which I plowed into the back of a VW, 2003-2005 driver, 2005-Pres Parts

'77 280SE Euro, 4-Speed Manual, Plaid/Vinyl Interior, with plain door trim and manual windows 2005-Pres driver

'78 350SE Euro, converted later to power windows Plaid/Vinyl Interior.

I'd love to have a manual trans 350SE (or even better, SEL) like Nutz listed...that got me drooling.

Just the one so far, looking at buying a W116 280SE from my mechanic for my daily driver.

good choice. not bagging your 230 diesel, but i reckon you'll find the M-110 aint so bad at all. fuel economy of a six (er, sort of), a great sound at high revs, and surprising power for a six too. especially if its a manual! my dad has one, not currently going, but boy did it go!
'79 280SEL- 560,000 Kms
'73 350SE- getting an AMG facelift
'79 450SEL 6.9

2 for me so far.

78 280SEL 2004-2006

79 450SEL 2006-present

i live in a unit and have 5 benzes all over the place. the 450SEL has been upgraded to the garage finally though its a mission getting it to fit in. first theres barely enough swinging space in the driveway to turn into the garage. i can only get it in by reversing. this still requires about a 5 or 6 point turn every time. it wont make it in going forwards full stop. and once its in you cant walk down one side as i need to get it so close to the wall on the passenger side so i can open my door to get out, without climbing out the sunroof! the excercise allows for 0% error every time.

my washing line is also in the garage so i push the car in and out a couple of metres so i can hang up my washing to dry. i dont want to start it cold and stop it again all the time just to move it 2 metres.

the car is too big, too thirsty, and basically needless considering all the other cars i have. though i actually got the 300TD back when i had my 280SEL just so i wouldnt have to take the 280SEL into carparks or drive it in the rain or carry things in it. the 300TD now faithfully acts as workhorse to protect the 450SEL in the same way. just a few of the little sacrifices i make in my life for my 116.

so yeah, really my 450SEL is a pointless, needless, great big lump of an earth warming anachronism.

hmmm, must be why i love it so much! its a guilty pleasure, really.

i just tell them i drive a "green" car.

i dont need a smaller car, i need a bigger garage dammit!

apparently there are "green" groups in london who are going around the city putting "parking tickets" under the wipers of SUVs advising owners they have been infringed by the green police for driving an ecologically poor choice of vehicle.

and my source was "mercedes enthusiast" magazine, so you know the info is reliable!!

people do that down here in tassie, really infuriates me, They do it in the car parks where they can get everyone at the same time.

I just screw it up and throw it on the ground, I figure that if enough people do that, the owners of the cark park will get sick of picking them up and stop the people doing it.

How dare someone touch my car!

Do you happen to know the official term for the M-B colour "baby kak yellow"?

I've heard this used by a couple of people, is it common usage?

Boogity, Boogity, Boogity, Amen!

oscar

No, but "baby kak yellow" sounds descriptive enough. :)  I can picture the colour, and see it frequently in W123's around here but I don't know what code it refers to.
