Found two British era coins deep under the front passenger seat while replacing speaker cabling. Goes to prove my 6.9's Hong Kong heritage. What curiosities have you found in your W116?

I found an arabic-labeled cassette tape under the rear seat squab.  Sure enough, it's got arabic music on it. :)

I found over $10 in change and bills in my W123 coupe when I was cleaning it out after I bought it.

The story of how I bought a '77 280SE without telling my wife is documented http://forum.w116.org/test-drive/here-is-the-pick-up-story-of-euro-280se-2/msg77826/#msg77826. So, around the same time she thought it would be nice for me to have a consultation for hair replacement.

Well I sure won out, because while she was furious over the car purchase, I found a Jewish Yamaka in the glove box which perfectly covered my balding and the car cost less than the surgery!!  8)

I found a death certificate in a 1977 450SE parts car I had.

Good score with the Arabic cassette tape! I have a few, and once I took one to work, put it in the tape deck of the company truck, then turned up the volume. Too bad my boss was the next one to use the truck--he's somewhat politically incorrect and I worked on an air force base... Also, the timing was bad because the truck wouldn't start the next day (due to a bad alternator) and it didn't help that the stereo started blasting Arab music when he turned on the ignition.

Come on now, you can't go and post something as intriguing as that without a link!  I wanna read this!

Edited previous post.

BTW, to adamb, that is really neat about those coins further proving provenance. Will you keep them with the car?

And why not - can't spend them here. Curiously, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coins_of_the_Hong_Kong_dollar they are still legal tender even the queen's head on them.

I found $8 and over $22 in loose change in the last two cars I wrecked ;D  Had Aus not substituted $1 and $2 notes for coins years ago I doubt I would've found a dollars worth.  Other than that, found nothing exciting.

I found $80 (4 $20 bills) under the driver seat plus about $5 in change in my latest acquisition (a $750 300D).  That's over a 10% discount on the car!
