So i have a 1979 Mercedes 280S that has a long list of problems. But it is  rare car. It is a Euro car with crank windows, no sunroof, manual locks, AC and a manual 4 speed transmission. The car drives fantastic but the engine is very ticky and the car has quite a bit of rust. Im trying to sell the car( for 1000) but no one seems intersted. I am at the point where i am considering parting out the car. Ive always wanted to swap in a 4speed in a w123 wagon. But i would really like to avoid parting out such a unique car. Im not asking much. The Euro bumbpers and trans are worth more then the rest of the car. But no one is intersted in it. If someone is interested in buying the car or has any advice for selling the car please let me know!

No such thing as a rare W116 unfortunately.  Even pristine condition 6.9's are struggling right now.  Unless it was owned by Elvis or somebody and even then it might be a push.

I've got a similar problem with a U.S. Spec 280SE.  More common but few of them left in the States.  Likely going to the crusher though that prospect makes me sad.  I've had multiple unsolicited offers for my base '90 Civic hatch with 330K miles on it, but no interest in the W116, even for parts.
