I've done nearly 1,000 kms in three weeks and have been enjoying every moment of it.   I did get stuck in the rain last weekend though!

I'm not a great fan of white cars but the W116 is handsome in any colour! I've also noticed that the lighter colours seem to take longer to get dirty than the darker ones.

Nice,

It looks like you've had a bit of rain there, Carl.

Well done Carl! :)

They are meant to be enjoyed and that does occasionally involve them getting wet and dirty. Sometime the wetter and dirtier the better for a really good time. It gives us the excuse to rub and polish them afterwards knowing how much pleasure they give us :)

w116's shouldn't be allowed to get wet.

Its borderline criminal  8)

Major Tom, I have to disagree with you there, they can get wet but should be dried off and made shiny again immediately afterwards!

Carl!
Say it isn't so, driving through water, are you having a mid life crisis?
Use the Ferrari man... ;D

Well MT, I wouldn't be so dogmatic about it. 8)

Sometimes we need to put the seriousness aside and have a bit of fun.

Its ok to get them wet as long as all the drains are clear, the seals are good and places such as inside the doors and the inside of the front guards between the wheel and the front door is cleaned out of the buildup of mud and sprayed with fish oil or some rust inhibitor.

Hey carl! thats great! Been wanting to take mine out for ages now for a long run! whats the white sports-car in the top photo in front of the 4wd? looks english?

Nothing wrong with getting your car wet and dirty. Last winter I've driven mine in the snow. Oh that was fun with all the power of the 6,9 engine to the lightly loaded rear end. With hills it was imperative to get a run up otherwise one was likely to get stuck half way. No snow this year so far.
