There will always be a faster/better car next year.

I have never had the pleasure of experiencing a 6.9 but my 450 never seems lacking in modern traffic and is easier and more pleasurable to drive than any modern car. I am not biased.

Haha, there is only two seconds between them from zero to a hundred... considering most cars were gutless in the '70s, that strikes me as remarkable.

And yes, there will always be a faster car tomorrow.

I gotta say, I haven't driven a 6.9, but I HAVE driven a whole mess of modern Benz V12s. 129 bodies, 140 bodies, 220s before the turbos and after. AMGs, RennTechs, blah blah blah. Any V12 after 2003 is a twin turbo (at least in the States) and they are ALL faster than 5.9 sec to 60. And completely easy to drive. Any hamfisted clown can rip to 60 in at least 5. Hell, Maybach 62s will skunk a Carrera up to about 2009.

That having been said, while the power is exhilarating, I love the feel of my 116. Certainly nothing built in 1980 could compare. I drive a 1996 Rolls Silver Spur for a friend for his wedding "get away car" business and I don't care for it at all. The Benz is a far superior car.
