Title: Diesel Purge, New Fuel Filters, Some New Hoses, BLOWBY
Post by: sethkestenbaum on 01 September 2018, 11:35 AM
Today I decided to finally do a diesel purge and change the fuel filter and pre-filter. I even replaced a few fuel lines as the old ones were less than optimal.  While I was under the hood I would check for blowby... sure enough I have some. The blowby isn't too bad but there are some puffs of smoke.  I am going to assume that some blowby is "typical and acceptable" for W116s with 100,000+ miles.  With this in mind, how much is too much?

Unscrew the oil cap and just let it sit on top the of the valve cover not tightened down. How much does it dance?
